We are thrilled that well known artist and tutor Nicola Slattery will be here to guide you through an exciting week of artistic discovery. With over 20 years experience of teaching art to a wide range of people, Nicola has a reputation for delivering calm, effective tuition at all levels of ability. Learn about the versatility of acrylics and how to paint with them, as you explore the use of imagination as a driving force behind your painting.

Whether complete beginner or established old hand you will be encouraged and inspired by excellent tuition, as well as by your surroundings.
As our house guests we would like you to get the most from your stay. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and the number of painters is kept to 10 to ensure you receive the individual attention you desire.



Since graduating from Art College in 1986 Nicola has continued to work as a professional contemporary artist and art tutor. Her art has a distinct style and quality which is becoming increasingly recognised across the United Kingdom and also in Europe and the USA. She has regularly written articles for national art magazines on the techniques she teaches, including Painting with Acrylics and Art from the Imagination.

The traditional stone farmhouse and barn provide an idyllic location looking out across meadows of grazing cattle and the wooded slopes of Mont St Cyr. There is a real sense of space and tranquillity yet we are only a short distance from castles, vineyards and the historic town of Cluny. Accommodation is in either the farmhouse itself or at the nearby St Cyr hotel. The farmhouse has many original features including exposed beams, the original bread oven and huge stone fireplace. Buffet lunches and evening meals are taken around the table in the kitchen. Food is home grown, home made or locally sourced and we offer a local wine tasting on your first evening.
